I’ve been wondering: What impact will AI have or is it already having on social life? I’ve been home from work for a few weeks, and I spend a lot of time on ChatGPT. Mostly, I research topics I don’t know much about or dive deeper into areas where I have gaps. But lately, I’ve noticed that I’ve started having real discussions about social and economic issues, something I usually do at the bar with my friends. So I wonder: Could AI be a substitute for social life, or at least part of it? Social networks have already made many people less able to engage in real-life interactions; could AI become a new form of social isolation?
